Application Process
1. Mortar Board membership applications for the 2007-2008
academic year will be mailed to eligible students at the end of January
2007.
2. Applications are due February 19, 2007 by 4:30pm.
3. Newly selected members will be "tapped"
for membership in class hours during the week of April 9-13, 2007.

Membership Eligibility
The criteria for admission to Mortar Board at SDSU are:
- Full time student at SDSU with senior standing for
the fall semester and an SDSU GPA and an overall grade point average
of 3.2 or better. (No exceptions)
- Participation and excellence in the following three areas: scholarship, leadership, and service. (Only those students who have excelled in all three areas will be considered).
- Obligations of Membership
Membership in Mortar Board means active involvement and a commitment to serve the university and the community.
Membership obligations include:
- One time national fee of $60.
- Local dues are $10.00.
- Monthly meetings.
- Serving on a committee.
- And participating in membership selection, tapping, and initiation.
