Backpack Stuffing
Backpack Stuffing is a project to support the national project of Mortar Board – “Reading is Leading” – and to promote literacy.
Each year the SDSU and USD Chapters and the Alumni Board meet at SDSU or USD to stuff backpacks with school supplies for disadvantaged students.
Fifty backpacks are donated each year. Thus far, backpacks have been distributed to a orphanage in Mexico, the Polinsky Center, the Monarch School, Linda Vista Middle School, Cajon Middle School, Hamilton Elementary School, Oak Park Elementary School, and Hardy Elementary School.
